Norfolk Southern Partners With Comply365 to Digitally Transform Operations

Project to Provide Digital Delivery of Rulebooks & Important Documents to 8,000 Employees

Beloit, WI – Jan. 7, 2021 – Cloud-hosted software provider Comply365 continues its expansion into the rail industry and is pleased to announce a partnership with Norfolk Southern, one of North America’s largest Class I railroads. Norfolk Southern will leverage the Comply365 content management system and mobile application to digitize its operations, improve efficiency, and enhance safety and compliance.

Comply365’s platform will support Norfolk Southern’s digital transformation efforts already underway. The project digitizes rulebooks, bulletins, special instructions, and other mission-critical documents that train conductors, engineers, and other operational personnel must carry while on duty. The project will roll out to more than 8,000 operational employees across the railroad in 2021.

“Our move from the paper world has already begun, and we’re excited to realize the benefits that a more digital workplace will provide. As we researched a solution to complement our ongoing efforts, Comply365 stood out as a leader in digitally transforming the transportation industry,” Norfolk Southern Director Operating Rules Corey Veal said. “We look forward to providing our employees with an easy-to-use app that supports operational safety and compliance and creates a more efficient document management and delivery system.”

Norfolk Southern operates approximately 19,500 route miles in 22 states and the District of Columbia, serves every major container port in the eastern United States, and provides efficient connections to other rail carriers.

Comply365, whose customers include many of the major airlines across the globe, is leading a digital transformation in the rail industry, much like it did in aviation over the past decade. Comply365’s rail division includes customers such as Canadian National, Amtrak, and Keolis Commuter Services, which operates the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority’s commuter rail network.

“We are happy to welcome the team at Norfolk Southern to our Comply365 rail division community,” Comply365 CEO Tom Samuel said. “The move Norfolk Southern and many others in the rail industry are making to their operational content management is transformational. We look forward to seeing the gains they will soon realize from electronic document delivery and automatic compliance tracking.”

Comply365 is an industry leader in providing operators a user-friendly mobile solution to access the mission-critical information they need at their fingertips, with the ability to quickly search and filter, bookmark, and annotate important documents.
